Home Sweet Home

On Christmas Eve I attended a spectacular performance at Chesapeake Church, the church that I was privileged  to grow up in. They had an entire orchestra and it sounded so beautiful, it was sweet music to my ears. After the service I came home to a joyful yellow lab and an empty house, it was quite enjoyable. It was so delightful to have a house all to myself. I put on one of Misty Edwards devotional sets and began to bake.

I love the smell of deserts baking in the oven, especially red velvet cupcakes. It is like smelling the sweetness of the Lord. As I was baking and looking around the house at all the Christmas decorations, I began to get such an excitement and an anticipation for when I have my own house. I am excited about being able to choose what smells are in my house and how it is decorated or designed. I am so excited to have my own dogs and be able to greet them at the door after they have been outside. I cannot wait to start my very own fire in my fireplace. I cannot wait to pick out and cut down a Christmas tree with my husband. I cannot wait to put lights and ornaments on the tree so that in the middle of the night I can sit   and gaze upon the beauty of the lights. I am excited to be able to curl up on my couch with a  warm blanket, a hot cup of chai, and a good book and spend the whole day reading. I have such an excitement and a joy that words cannot express.

What can I say? I am a dreamer. I shall continue you to dream about my home until the day I am able to truly say, "home sweet home."
