New Years Eve

Happy New Years EveTonight is the night that we will all welcome in 2011! It truly has been quite a year; looking back I can see that the Lord's hand was upon every single moment and for that I am eternally grateful! I could not have made it through 2010 without my Beloved.A lot of people see New Years as a time to set new resolutions, but I see it as another chapter of my adventure with my Lord and sweet Savior. Personally, I am not a fan of New Years resolutions and I do not think they are effective. People create an extensive list of resolutions and by the end of January they cannot even remember what their resolutions were. So why do we bother making resolutions at all? They should not be called resolutions, they should be called goals - and we should not wait until the beginning of each new year to set goals...Setting goals needs to be a habit that we create in our lives that we are committed to accomplishing, not just something we do once a year and you forget about at the end of January. It's not even 2011 and people have already begun to report on what the top ten New Years resolutions will be and are for 2011.

Why is it that quitting smoking comes in at number one, but yet helping people comes in last and spending more time with family comes in ninth?

The time that you have been given here on this earth is not for you, it is not to "improve" you or to find the perfect version of you. Your time here has been entrusted to you by God. Each year is not your own, but rather it is the Lords. Every moment needs to be about Him and His work.

This year should not be about you changing you, but about the Lord cultivating His character and heart within you. It's time that we stop becoming so concerned with our flesh and setting worldly goals and start looking through the eyes of eternity! But how do we do this? Brad Leach has a great way of explaining how we can make John 3:30 the state of our hearts.

5 Things Brad Leach is Doing to Attack the New Year

How are you going to kick off your New Year? How will this year be differently then last year? Or 2009? Or 2008? This is the year of change, this is a year of revival - it's time we stop fighting this reality and start walking in it!
Happy New Year everyone! :)
May God Bless You in 2011!
